What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
A combination of Solution Focused Brief Therapy & Hypnosis, which helps to move
you towards your best hopes and preferred future without dwelling on the problems
of the past.
Using Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we look forward, not backwards, helping you to
understand what you want and how to achieve it. Through the process of inducing a ‘trance’ or
relaxation state, we gain access to the subconscious mind, which can help enormously in moving
us towards our future goals.
In the initial consultation, we will gather information and help give a greater understanding
of how the brain works & how situations in our life make us feel as we do. Helping us
understand how Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help you to deal with these issues
& the unwanted symptoms that sometimes accompany them.
This understanding will help you to deal better with the emotions you are experiencing and help to
aid a speedy recovery.
The initial consultation is free, and it is a chance for us both to meet and for me to assess what it
is you hope to achieve from further sessions. It is also an opportunity for me to explain how the
brain works in relation to your particular situation and to demonstrate how hypnotherapy will
benefit you. I will then give you a relaxation recording to listen to every evening.
The next and subsequent sessions will focus on what has been good about your week,
encouraging you to be positive about what you have achieved and looking forward to focusing on
solutions in a positive way. You will be encouraged to imagine a future that will improve your
quality of life. When you are focused in such a positive state, we will then complete the session
using hypnotherapy to not only deeply relax you but to consolidate all that we have discussed.
During the follow up sessions we will use tools such as;
Scaling - helping the client and therapist to track progress.
Miracle Question - where, through a series of questioning, we are able to access the
subconscious mind by helping you focus on the positive things in your life. I'll ask you to
imagine your preferred future. This can have a profound effect as you start to imagine a life
where your current problems don’t exist.
The session will then move onto:
Trance - where, through a series of questioning, we are able to access the subconscious mind
and help you focus on the positive things in your life. We use language patterns consisting of
stories and metaphors which help to calm the mind and thoughts and see the positive
aspects and possibilities of your future life.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is used to calm the mind and find your way to
the real you. Within the sessions we use proven techniques to effectively train your
mind, to relax deeply and find the solutions for you which may have been hidden.
With Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we don’t focus on old traumas or relive painful memories.
Instead we will concentrate on looking forward to the future and helping you to realise your
solutions, to act, think and behave in a positive way from a supported position. This
enables this technique to be very effective, helping you to work quickly & positively
getting you to where you wish to be to live your best life.
